Pupil Success Stories April 2017

Congratulations to Antrim Grammar School pupil Reece Taylor, who was recently invited to the prestigious ‘Celebrate with CCEA’ awards ceremony, held at Titanic Belfast. Reece was receiving his award for coming top in Mathematics in the GCSE examinations in Northern Ireland in June 2016.

Hockey success 2016-17

Joely Andrews ,  Sophie Scott and Alix Kerr were selected for the u15 SE Area  hockey teams and competed in the recent Area Board Tournament.

Joely Andrews has been selected to train with the Ulster U16 Hockey Development  Squad.

The Year 11 hockey team won the Nora Sinclair Trophy after competing  in the  North Antrim and Derry hockey Tournament.

The Year 11 hockey team were runners up in the south Antrim Hockey tournament.

English Youth Ballet

Ellie McCausland (8E) and Beth Thornton (8P) auditioned for the English Youth Ballet for a chance to take part in their production of Swan Lake in the Grand Opera House in November. 168 applicants auditioned and we are delighted to be able to congratulate both girls on their successful auditions.

Dance Competition Success

Lucia Pandolfi (8E) , Ellie McCausland (8E)  and Beth Thornton (8P) have qualified in their group dances for Semi Finals of VAD Productions in Blackpool January 2018.  Lucia has since qualified in her open solo and open duet categories as well.

The 3 girls also competed at 5678 Elite Dance Competition on Saturday 27 April and were once again successful:

1st Place - Modern Group

1st Place - Lyrical Group

3rd Place - Jazz Group

Lucia also placed 1st in DUET section, Ellie & Beth placed 2nd.
